My Nendoroid Wishlist

Nendoroids are so cute, but so expensive. Because of this I currently don’t own any. I did pre-order the winter costume Bakugou nendoroid though because I adore his design! I’m so excited about him arriving next year.

I named this post ‘My Nendoroid Wishlist’ but it’s more of a collection of some of my favourites that I’ve seen.

With this in mind, let’s start!

The Sabito figure looks so good. The details are beautiful and his mask and shirt looks amazing. Shinobu’s butterfly cloak flowing is so beautiful! Giyu with his crow is so cute and his outfit is so good – it contrasts against his hair colour and style well.

Look! The Itadori figure has his Cursed Energy/Black First! Megumi has his black dog shikigami! How cute! Nobara has her hammer! She looks great!

This Dabi figure does his piercings very well (this is something a lot of other figures I see lack). His hair looks so good too, and the blue fire’s structure is quite cool!

Are Characters that Grow on You Likeable or Relatable?

There are some characters that just grow on you throughout a series. You start off either disliking them, a bit apathetic to them or liking them to rooting for them 110%.

It makes me wonder: what makes us start to love these type of characters?

Perhaps it’s because they are not particularly likeable characters, but rather relatable characters.

Likeability is the quality of being easily liked. It covers the perceptions of warmth, friendliness, attractiveness, approachability and similarity. Characters that I think of that are likeable include Itadori from Jujutsu Kaisen, Mob from Mob Psycho 100 and Sasha from Attack on Titan. These are characters you like and root for from the start.

However, relatable characters are characters you can bond with, empathise with and identity with. They are characters you usually watch develop and bond with as the story progresses. Characters that are think are relatable include Akaashi from Haikyuu!!, Yuri from Yuri On Ice!!!, and Saiki from The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. I’m not saying that these characters aren’t likeable – but they are known to be very relatable.

With this in mind some characters that definitely I found grew on me as a series progressed – and ended up being some of my favourites – including Bakugou from My Hero Academia, Nanami from Jujutsu Kaisen and Jean from Attack on Titan.

Something that I found to link Bakugou and Jean is that they didn’t have the most impactful introduction on people – but became fan favourites the more they were shown.

Bakugou was kind of hated by fans when he was first introduced – he was a bully, arrogant and mean. But as he develops thorughout the series he’s become number 1 in the most popular character polls. Now, people understand that he’s trying to be better, cares for his classmates, is emotional and is still so driven after facing a lot of bad things. By revealing more about Bakugou’s view points and understanding beliefs his character became more relatable to others.

Jean had mixed reception by fans I feel when he was first introduced – he was kind of rude and arrogant. But he had the best development by far in Attack on Titan – his leadership, caring nature, struggle with keeping his morals, ability to perform well under pressure and courage are well loved now. As Jean grew in his teen years and experienced more in the Scouts he really matured and fans appreciated that he was the most ‘human’ character in the series.

Nanami was well-loved from the start because of his comedic introduction with his relatable, ‘Work is shit!’ Nanami doesn’t emanate ‘warmth’ because he’s blunt and serious, but he’s relatable from the start and fans love his more realistic and mature mentality than other adult sorcerers we’d seen so far. He’s the one just trying to make money in a career he’s suited to and acknowledges that children are children and should be treated as such.

It’s as we’re shown more about these characters I’ve mentioned that we come to appreciate and bond with them. We learn to understand their motives, ambitions and struggles and so – we root for them because we understand them.

What are your thoughts on this topic? Do you think characters that grow on you in series are relatable? Or is there another common thread?

What’s Your Favourite Anime Fight Scene?

Anime series are known to have some very engaging, well-animated and well-choreographed fight scenes.

One of my favourite fight scenes in anime that I’ve seen is Bakugou vs Uraraka. I love in this scene how it shows off their quirks and how well they can be used, but more importantly it showcases characters’ personalities. In this scene Uraraka is given the respect she deserves by Bakugou and Aizawa. Bakugou doesn’t view her as a ‘poor girl’ but gives her a real fight and doesn’t underestimate her at all – he’s shown to be excited to fight her because of his respect for her as a fighter. The audience also sees how Bakugou respects Uraraka, which is very important to start to show his character as his development is gradual in the series. I also respected Aizawa so much after this scene for how well he understands his students, how well he reads situations and how much he respects his students also.

I love the season 1 Hanami vs Tokyo and Kyoto students because we get to see so many different techniques in one fight. I like how originally in the Exchange Event the Kyoto students are against the Tokyo students because of their principal’s instructions that they have to follow – and now they come together. It shows how they’re all students and they come together because they actually have good relationships with each other. Watching Inumaki, Kamo and Fushiguro fight first against Hanami is so interesting to see the Crused Speech Technique, more of Fushiguro’s shikigami and Kamo’s Blood Manipulation Technique. Then swapping out to Maki getting to show off her physical prowess and skills with Cursed Tools and Megumi also showing how well he’s progressed with his Cursed Tools practise and his new technique was awesome. Then in the moment were they swap out with Itadori and Todo, it shows great teamwork how Maki comments that their work is ‘done’ and they can fall back to get their injuries healed.

Some of my Dream Cosplans

I’ve never cosplayed, but I definitely have some that I think would be cool to do. These are broken up into a few categories.

Ones that I think are achievable for my never having cosplayed before:

I think that Eto is a very realistic cosplan to make. The outfit she wore to her book-signing consists of glasses with a cute hairstyle and a simple white jumper under green over overalls.

Arrietty would be very easy to do as well. I already have long red hair so I’d just need a plain red dress and brown boots. The hair clip would be fun to make too – probably out of foam?

Ones I would make if I had the patience, time, money, practise and talent:

I love Bakugou’s winter costume but it’s so complex I’m intimidated by it. I think doing a female version of Kirishima’s outfit would be cool as well – mostly because I love his head gear – but is also intimidating. Toga has cool accessories that would be interesting to make – but again is also intimidating. Uraraka’s new hero costume is so nice as well but again – intimidating.

The cosplay I think I like the most:

I love Nona’s design. I think it’s just got such nice elements. Her hairstyle and earrings are so elegant and the colour is pretty of her hair. Her outfit too is fairly simple but has cute accessories like her tie and the little frills on her shirt and the design on the hips of the pants.

Do you cosplay? Or have any cosplay ideas?

My Acrylic Stands!

I have some acrylic stands that I love a lot.

I have:
A cute Giyu and Tanjiro with their swords.
A Megumi and Itadori/Sukuna stand.
A lovely Aizawa acrylic (he was a gift given to me and he’s honestly probably my favourite one).
A Bakugou one (badly photographed by me hahah).
A Shinobu one.
And super cute Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Insouke stands I display as a set (they each are also meant to have an additional little piece that has their name on it in front of their character on the stand but I liked their look without it. Don’t worry though, I’ve kept the pieces in case I change my mind later on!)

Do you have acrylic stands? Any favourites or ones that you want to get?

Pin Collection Update!

I started a pin collection a few months ago. I’ve put them on a cork board and I absolutely love it!

My collection currently consists of:

A pride night sky triangle pin by one of Let’s Go Akamaru’s co-founders.

Shinso and Aizawa head pins, and a Bakugou and Todoroki side profile pins by Redemsi.

A keyblade Dabi inspired pin I got from ShinnoyumeShop.

A Spirited Away soot sprite pin I bought from a local artist back in 2017 at a convention.

A Hawks pin that was a gift given to me.

A Howl’s Moving Castle pin from rioandblue.

A Kenma time-skip pin by kyupins.

Amajiki, Hawks and Aizawa pins which I unfortunately can’t find the artist of.

Do you guys have any pins? If so, which are your favourites?

I’d Love to Have Anime Cartilage Earrings

I have four helix piercings and I just think it’d be neat if there was more earrings for cartilage piercings. Imagine a Demon Slayer industrial that’s a replica of Tanjiro’s sword, a MHA triple forward helix that has symbols for Deku, Bakugou and Todoroki, a Naruto tragus that is a sharigan.

I would assume the main reason why cartilage earrings for anime don’t really exist is because you want to wear higher quality metals in these piercings, which can be hard to do for small businesses making them.

If anyone has any ideas though on how to make a high quality metal DIY earrings though or knows a place to buy some please let me know!

Ranking Class 1-A’s Bedrooms

Obviously these are all just my personal preferences and this post is just for fun!

  1. Mineta

mineta

Never would enter. -10/10.

  1. Shoji

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.02.02 pm

Sorry Shoji, but there’s literally nothing in this room. I understand that it’s probably more comfortable that way with your quirk but still… You didn’t bring anything aside from a desk, cushion, futon and pillow?

  1. Aoyama

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.01.10 pm

Way too bright. My sensitive eyes would not handle this. Why so many mirrors too?

  1. Ojiro

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.01.30 pm

Sorry man, but it’s pretty plain.

  1. Hagakure.

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.03.08 pm

Way too much pink for me.

  1. Ashido

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.02.52 pm

Ashido I love you, but I hate how much hot pink and clashing patterns there are.

  1. Uraraka

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.02.36 pm

I like the astrology chart in the background.

  1. Iida

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.01.17 pm

I like that there’s a lot of books but the sheer amount of back-up glasses he has unnerves me.

  1. Asui

asui

Haven’t seen her room but I would assume there’d be a waterbed and a calming blue and green colour scheme. Perfect for her.

  1. Yaoyorozu

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.03.18 pm

I wonder if she ever got a smaller bed…

  1. Midoriya

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.00.57 pm

It’s only All Might merch. Definitely not the full collection either.

  1. Sato

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.02.29 pm

I would be way too tempted to eat all day with the amount of baking supplies in his room.

  1. Koda

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.01.55 pm

Tidy room, cute bunny.

  1. Tokoyami

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.01.03 pm

Lots of personality and non-offensive lighting. I appreciate you Tokoyami.

  1. Todoroki

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.02.19 pm

I’m mostly just impressed with how quickly and well he put the whole thing together.

  1. Kaminari

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.01.47 pm

One of the most realistic teen rooms and perfectly on-brand for Kaminari. Just look at that random hats collection, posts, darts board, headphones, poster and wall displays.

  1. Jiro

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.02.44 pm

Practically a music studio. Spectacular.

  1. Sero

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.02.11 pm

His room is actually amazing. His interior design skills never cease to amaze me.

  1. Kirishima

Screen Shot 2020-07-15 at 2.01.38 pm

Super manly. 100/10. Perfect reflection of Kirishima.

  1. Bakugou

bakugou

Mystery room? I love it. Let us never know and speculate Hirokoshi. It allows for so many potential scenarios: Who’s allowed into the room? Does 1-A have a betting ring about what it’s like? Does he keep the door lock or do people just assume he does?

Go Bakugou, give us nothing!

I would imagine Bakugou would keep his room very neat and organised. He’d have his desk and study equipment, bed always made in the morning, some work-out gear in there and some All Might merch too tastefully displayed.

So, which room is your favourite?
