Music and Me Tag: My (Probably Trash Taste) Edition

Thanks Rose @ Wretched and Divine for tagging me! 🖤

Rules

  1. Link back to the original (Sophie @ Me and Ink) so she can see your answers and listen to the tunes.
  2. For every prompt you choose name 1-5 songs (you can use Sophie’s graphics)
  3. Have fun and play your music LOUD!

Home Town Glory // Songs that remind you of home // Midnight Sky by Miley Cyrus

“But it’s been a long time since I felt this good on my own.”

I don’t think this song reminds me of home physically as much as it reminds me of the vibe that we’re all small specks of dust in such a vast universe. I just feel like it would be a great song to have someone dancing to with a brightly star-light night background in a dimly light city or in a landscape like what Ymir was in in Attack on Titan. Someone make this happen for me please. My soul needs it.

It’s a Love Story // Your favourite songs about love // All of Me by John Legend

“What would I do without your smart mouth?”

I just really like this as a love song since it’s sung to the person he loves and includes things typically portrayed as ‘negative’ in a wonderful light. He just sounds so in love.

Shut Up and Dance // Songs you have to dance to // Dancin (KRONO Remix) by Aaron Smith

“Yeah but the feeling is fine.”

This song is such a bop. It’s got such solid beats against the vocals and the little odd sounding runs/trills just helps add to it.

If this was a Movie // Songs from Movies/TV/Broadway // The Plagues from Prince of Egypt

“Serving as your foe on his behalf is the last thing that I wanted.”

This is such a chilling song. The chorus’ harmonies and articulation, the instrumental sections, the lyrics, it’s all so creepy and powerful. The part where they make Moses sing against Rameses too is just perfection.

Comfort Crowd // Songs that make you feel calm // Frozen by Sheldon Riley

“You’re frozen when your heart’s not open.”

In what is probably a rather controversial opinion, I much prefer this cover to the original. The lyrics are so perfect for a ballad and I think the fact he’s projection is so open voweled and warm sounding adds to a sense of longing.

Always Remember Us this Way // Songs that remind you of your childhood // Asereje by Las Ketchup

“Y la baila y la goza y la canta.”

This song purely reminds me of my childhood because my dad sung it so much with us and played it so much. He helped me with my pronunciation too since I always butchered it. Plus, my siblings loved this song when it was on Just Dance.

Let’s Get Down to Business // Songs that motivate you // Son of Man by Phil Collins

“Oh, the power to be strong and the wisdom to be wise.”

I don’t think this song motivates me as much as I just want to say I appreciate Phil Collins absolutely going above and beyond in Tarzan. I don’t even care about his tax evasion this song makes me feel things and stay focused on studying (I don’t do well with upbeat songs while studying, I need songs more in the same vibe as Son of Man to focus).

Old Town Road // Songs from the past that you like // Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley

“Would it be a sin if I can’t help falling in love with you?”

This is such a romantic song. No more needs to be said.

Cry with You // Songs that make you cry and cry // Call of Silence by Hiroyuki Sawano

“Even if my body’s bleached to the bones I don’t want to go through that ever again.”

I can’t say anything about this song. I’ll just cry. Please listen to it.

I Think I’m in Love // Your latest music obsessions // Far Beyond by Dexter French

“Through ourselves we send a sign but the message is our breaking.”

I couldn’t think of a latest obsession so I just decided to put what’s probably my favourite song in.

Writer in the Dark // Favourite lyrics from songs // The Loneliest Girl from Carole and Tuesday and TheDOGS by Hiroyuki Sawano

“Do you really want to set the night on fire?”

Lyrically this is just one of my favourite songs from this series. It’s got such a clear story, emotion and message told.

“Were we born to lose and let goliath win?’

You have to listen to this song the lyrics are so good.

Sign of the Times // Songs in the charts that you love // Call out my Name by The Weeknd

“I said I didn’t feel nothing baby, but I lied.”

The Weeknd has such a great voice with so much emotion behind it. This song is feeling.

More Than a Memory // Songs you have specific memories attached to // Right Here, Right Now by Fat Boy Slim

I was deathly afraid of this music video growing up. It got to the stage that just the music would make me physically nauseous. If you made me watch any part of the video I would cry. And if you made me sit through the whole thing it would sometimes get to the point where I was sweating and my hands were minutely shaking.

Sing to Me Instead // Those songs you have to sing to // Take me to Church by Hozier

“I’ll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife.”

I seriously considered putting this song under the ‘lyrics’ question for this tag but I just love singing along to it so I had to keep it here.

I Wasn’t Expecting That // Songs that you didn’t expect to love, but you do // Glassy Sky by Yutaka Yamada

“The moments we spent have passed and gone away.”

I was crying too much the first time I heard the song so I knew I liked it but on a second listen I remembering not liking it as much? But I listened to it later thinking I still wouldn’t like it that much and did a total 180. I love this beautiful song.

Favourite Record // Albums you can’t live without // Merry-Go-Round-of-Life by Joe Hisaishi

I actually don’t listen to albums so I wasn’t sure to to put it. However, I will listen to this song for the length of an album. Someone please make a note that I want this song played at every major life event I have and if it’s not I will be upset. Someone better play this behind me while I dance through the street one night after a fantastic day where a wizard walks me through the air.

Video Games // Name your favourite music videos // The Trail We Blaze from The Road to El Dorado

“Changing legend into fact we shall ride into history.”

Okay so I also don’t really watch music videos. However, I have watched the Road to El Dorado many times and its entire soundtrack goes so hard in the movie which is a video. So, on that note I’m putting this song in.

The Mystery Blogger Award: The Theme Here is that I Like to Sleep

Hello there everyone! Yes, I am still annoying people! Long live the life of the no-schedule gang!

I’m here to answer the Mystery Blogger Award which of Midnight Ravings and Nesha have so kindly nominated me for (yes, I am aware it was for weeks ago – but I got here eventually! I’ve had to prioritise mental health for the past few weeks).

For those unfamiliar with this tag, here are the rules:

  • Display the award logo on your blog.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Mention Okoto Enigma, the creator of the award.
  • Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.
  • Answer 5 questions from the nominee.
  • Nominate 10 – 20 bloggers. (My NB: I will be skipping on this step, because after looking through other bloggers feeds, I see that pretty much everyone has already done this. In saying that, if you want to do this tag go for it! Use the questions here if you want and credit the authors of the questions or come up with your own!)
  • Notify your nominees by leaving a comment on their blog.
  • Ask your nominees 5 questions of your choice, including 1 weird or funny question.
  • Share the link to your best post.

3 Things About Me:

Live feed of Netflix and my non-premium Crunchyroll account getting annoyed at just collecting more data about this volleyball anime.
  1. I’ve watched watch Haikyuu!! Seasons 1-3 and the OVAs approximately 6 times.
  2. I have four piercings. I’ve got two helixes on my left ear, one helix on my right and my lobes pierced. I would add more, but the fine line of professionalism and piercings is one I’ve yet to figure out in this current employment economy and although I’d love more or even triple helixes, I have the cutest crescent shaped earring for my right helix and I’m very happy with my current earring layout.
  3. I study Communication (majoring in digital media)/Arts (double majoring in writing and film/TV) at university currently. I have 1.5 years left, although I might defer for 6 months next year and use my savings to do a certificate in something more practical as a break.

Chizurue (Elle)’s Questions:

Visually stunning.
  1. What’s the most useless talent you have?
I don’t know if people would consider this useless… but sleeping wherever. I can zone out loud noises, sleep through noises pretty well and can make myself fairly comfortable wherever if I need to sleep.
  2. What anime or movie or series would you turn into a novel to lure the bookworms in?
Tokyo Ghoul I think would be a brilliant novel. The art would lend itself to such a beautiful cover like The Black Goat’s Egg novel in the series. I also think it would be fantastic as a supernatural/horror/thriller/dark fantasy type of book.
The worldbuilding would be amazing to read about, and the characters are already so interesting. I feel like it would be perfect as a series to do each book focused on one character (rather than following the actual Tokyo Ghoul plot of the manga or anime) to tie everything together as a series, but explore a variety of ideologies and experiences of ghouls.
  3. What movie, anime, drama or series can you watch over and over without ever getting tired of? (Pick one or share one each) – This is really just me asking for recommendations.
Yuri on Ice!!! I know I probably recommend this too much, but it’s such a heart-warming and reassuring anime to watch.
  4. What mythical creature do you wish actually existed? So it can be your pet, a spirit animal, or you in your next life.
Familiars! They’re already kind of like a pet, can have a variety of forms, and are so mysterious.
  5. What made you follow this blog Of Midnight Ravings? (If you’re not following my blog – why not? or just disregard this one)
I followed this blog so long ago I don’t think I even remember the initial reason. Thinking back, it was probably because of the consistent high quality and engaging content that was being published.

Nesha’s Questoins:

Desk, car, chair, floor, security alarms. You name it, I could try to sleep it.
  1. What is that ONE desire or enthusiasm, the passion of yours that drives your soul?
Sleeping. The mantra that lives in my head rent free is: If you finish this now you can sleep later.
  2. What makes you grateful, optimists, and concerned about this passion of yours?
I’m grateful for the amount of joy sleeping and naps bring me. I’m concerned about the depression thoughts that hits as soon as I wake up though. I’m super unimpressed in the mornings to have to get up.
  3. What does success look like in your head?
I have no clue to be honest… I would love to live in an apartment that I can decorate how I want.
  4. What do you enjoy about writing?
How people can convey what they’re envisioning in their head so well and create such extensive worlds and stories is what I enjoy most about writing.
  5. Do you like cats? What about catgirls? (This is the funny one )
I like cats, although I have never been a massive fan of catgirls in particular. I do like cats, but my preference does tend to lie with cute doggos.

THE ONE LINER TAG: ASK ME MORE ABOUT THE WAVE, I DARE YOU…

A big thank-you for Keiko for tagging me in this! They write awesome anime reviews, and their weekly round ups focused on seasonal anime are always great! Definitely head over there for some great anime and also music content!

The rules for this tag are as follows:
– Accept and thank your challenger(s) by linking back to their post
– Make a post of one-sentence summaries and/or roasts of at least five books
– No spoilers!
– Link back to the person who tagged you so they can see your post!
– Challenge as many or as little people as you want!
– Have fun!

So then here are the books I’m one-lining!

  1. The Wave
    Screen Shot 2018-10-11 at 3.39.51 pm.png
Absolute not even worthy enough to be called trash that no-one knows even exists, and for good reason.
  2. Paper Towns
    Screen Shot 2018-10-11 at 3.40.54 pm.png
Well written, annoying female protagonist, interesting idea about abolishing capitalism in grammar.
  3. 13 Reasons Why
    Screen Shot 2018-10-11 at 3.40.42 pm.png
    Bad.
  4. First Life
    Screen Shot 2018-10-11 at 3.40.28 pm.png
An interesting idea that shouldn’t have been read like it was a better version of Twilight, but was read as such anyway.
  5. Pride and Prejudice
    Screen Shot 2018-10-11 at 3.40.12 pm.png
Good though long to read, but very interesting to learn about.

And I’ll tag:
– Rose @ Wretched and Devine
– Ayano @ KawaiiPaperPandas
– Phi @ Anime Athena

Thanks for reading everyone! Hope you have a good day ❤

THE UNIQUE BLOGGER AWARD: I WAS NOMINATED!

This pair assignment I’ve had to do has been… an experience…

Thank-you to Keiko for the nomination! She blogs about lot of great anime, and her weekly round-ups are always good to read for seasonal anime too! Definitely check out her blog if you haven’t been over to it already please 🙂

So the rules for this award are:
– Display the award!
– Thank the person who nominated you, and post a link to their blog on your blog. (Try and include a little bit of promotion!)
– Answer the questions they’ve written for you!
– Nominate bloggers and give them three questions in the spirit of sharing love and solidarity within our blogging family!

And the questions from Keiko are:
– What is your favourite anime that was not an adaptation?
Anime that aren’t based upon a manga series… Hmm… Probably Death Parade? But then again that was based upon Death Billiards so… I haven’t finished Psycho-Pass yet so I’ll guess I’ll go with Free then? Oh wait… HOLD UP. HOLD THE FUCK UP. YUURI ON ICE ISN’T BASED UPON ANYTHING. THAT’S IT. THAT’S MY ANSWER!!!!!!! YUURI ON ICE IS MY ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!!!
– If you could pick one dish from any anime to eat, which would it be and why?
Ramen. I just really want the noodles and egg!
– Since I can’t think of any questions (I’m too lazy), write three facts about yourself that your fellow followers may not already know.
1. I’m always constantly torn about whether or not I would like a tattoo. I’m still too young to (legally anyway) get one, but I think that a tattoo is something that I should want for at least a few years before getting it. I have two designs that I like that are practically identical so I would like to just choose one, but I’m usually tossing up between them and also changing my mind about how much I’d want one…
2. I have reallyyyyy awful nails. I pick at my nails, and then when they’re short I will pick at my skin. It’s a habit I try to break, but also my skin around my nails just peels kind of easily so they never look good even if I’m not doing anything to them.
3. I have a nickname for my brother, and when he was younger most of my family called him by it. But now no-one else does and when they do he tells them that I’m the only one allowed to call him that. (Apparently I call him it and shortened versions of it a lot so he seems to think there’s no point in trying to get me to stop…)

And my nominees are (as always, no pressure to do it!):
KawaiiPaperPandas
Crow’s World of Anime
The Things I’ve Seen

And my questions are:
– What movie are you most excited to see that’s coming out late 2018/early 2019?
– Are you an organised person?
– Do you have anything signed by anyone that you’re really excited to own?

Thanks everyone for reading this, hope you’re having a good day! ❤

BROTHERHOOD OF THE WORLD: A BLOG AWARD

Does this mean that I’m cool yet?

Hi everyone! So Karandi nominated me for this award a few days ago, and by some miracle I am posting it not a month+ after I was tagged! For those living underneath a rock, Karandi does lots of anime reviews over on her blog. She posts reviews for seasonal anime, reviews varied types of anime and discusses lots of cool things about anime! She also just recently hit a 10 000 views milestone on her blog in August! 🙂

So without further ado, her are the rules for this tag:
– Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog. (Check!)
– Answer the questions sent to you. (About to do!)
– Nominate around 10 bloggers. (Always a hard job!)
– Create your own set of questions for your nominees and display the rules. (Time to probe you for your deepest, darkest secrets!)

And Karandi’s questions are as follows:
1. What would you most like to change about yourself or your life?
Hmm… this is hard… Maybe better eating/exercise habits? Some months I’m very good with them, other times I’m very bad. That’s something I need to work on.

Screen Shot 2018-09-03 at 9.49.20 am.png
Though I don’t think anyone could rival Sasha’s love for food…

2. If you could travel in time to the past but once you were there you had to stay, would you go and what time would you go to?
Can I choose not to? I’d be too terrified of stuffing something up with the timeline… >_<

Screen Shot 2018-09-03 at 9.49.06 am.png
I’d probably do something wrong. But also I think I’d prefer to live in the time we’re in now.

3. What technology are you most excited about for the future?
I’m going to say Smart Ice and Blockchain! I know that they’re already being used and all, but I’m still excited to see what impact they have and am interested to see how they’ll be developed from here on out.

Screen Shot 2018-09-03 at 9.48.23 am.png
You should have a look at them if you don’t know what they are!

And here are my questions!
– Are you a morning or night shower/bath person?
– What was your first part-time job?
– Where would you most like to travel to (that you haven’t already visited)?

And the nominees are:
The BookWorm Drinketh
Two Happy Cats
Matt-In-The-Hat
Merlin’s Musings
(4 is close enough to 10 hahah)

Bye everyone! Hope you have a good day ❤

300 FOLLOWERS Q&A!!!

Was this worth the wait for you to now read? Definitely not.

With three out of my four uni mid-terms out of the way, the past two months of 20-30 hours work weeks done (and moving onto only 10-20 hour weeks for the next month), the family excitement that’s been going on ended (my aunty come up to visit us! It was fun! We got to do quite a few things with her while she stayed!) and the actual finding of a social life… Here is the long-awaited QandA!

Hahah just kidding, I have something else to say first! You’re going to have to wait a bit longer!

Thank-you to the 309 people who currently follow me for putting up with me and my organised mess of a blog ❤ I’m so grateful and happy that you think stuff I write is worth reading, or at least are willing to let it show up in your feed!

And okay, now I’m done! Onto the questions!

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.11.00 pm
Hmm… I actually haven’t read much manga. All the ones I’ve read have already been adapted into anime (Blue Exorcist, A Silent Voice, Attack on Titan etc.). So I’m going to cheat then and say that the parts of Attack on Titan that haven’t yet been adapted are my favourite! Ha!

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.11.10 pm.png
I like the numbers, 13, 31 and 29! I like 31 because Halloween, and it’s the reverse of 13 too. I like 13 since in western countries it’s considered an unlucky number, meaning that when playing games no-one ever wants to pick it – so usually I’d just take it. And I’m a fairly lucky person (or at least used to be back in the primary school and early high school days), so I’ve won quite a few nice little things and games along the way with it! But 13 is also considered a lucky number in some places, so it’s a nice choice I think. And I’ll leave you guys to guess why I like the number 29 😉

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.11.16 pm.png
10 and a half months now! My valuable lesson would have to be: post what you want, and post when you want!

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.11.24 pm.png
Ooooooh, the really pretty limited edition Blu-Ray complete set of Death Parade! Look how awesome it is!
Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.27.34 pm.png

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.09.45 pm.png
I jump scare reallyyyyyyy easily, but I’m not disturbed by most things. So I’m going to say the spookiest things for me are those fish that live deep underwater and look kinda cool but also strange and sometimes manage to seep into my nightmares, and things jumping out at me.

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.09.52 pm.png
This answer is a bit longer. I started it towards the end of year 12 because my senior years had not been good in terms of my mental health and I just kind of went ‘stuff it’ one day and made a blog where I could post daily. So even if I was having a terrible day there was at least one fun thing for me to do that was about something that I enjoyed. Aside from my much more hectic schedule now (university and part-time work do not allow for much stability in terms of a timetable apparently), I feel like that’s one of the reasons why I don’t post every day anymore. I don’t need to. It’s still fun to post and write things, but I don’t need that thing every day that kept me grounded and gave me a sense of ‘you may not be great and you think that your going to ruin your life and other stuff but at least there is something you can do daily that’s consistent and you like.’
This paragraph is a mess and probably makes no sense, so sorry about that! But yeah, that’s why I started blogging!

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.10.04 pm.png
I’m not really a ‘regular YouTubers specific’ watcher if that makes any sense. I tend to just watch what catches my attention, and for YouTubers like iisuperwomanii or PewDiePie I just watch what seems interesting. I really like Mother’s Basement though, LazyJamie and SprinkleofGlitter. But Dan and Phil are going to have to take my top spot here because they’re the only YouTubers for whom I watch all their videos.

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.10.11 pm.png
Wow getting deep here now… Hmm… that’s actually really tough… I have things I want to do with my life obviously, though if some things happen and others don’t then I’d just sort of go with it I think. I’m a very ‘expect nothing, accept everything’ sort of person and probably will change what I want at different points in my life. So I’d say as far as what I’d want to do most… is to not give many f***s about what others think about what I want to do with my life and do it. I want to be the one to pick my own hobbies, my own career, decide what to I’m doing, make effort to have a good relationship always with my mum, siblings and the extended family, to choose my own partner, all that sort of stuff etc. I don’t believe in fate, and I don’t believe in anything religious or that there’s anything after death – so what I aspire to do is make my own life and live it in a way that I can be proud of.

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.10.17 pm.png
I still barely know how to form coherent sentences about season 7 and everything that’s gone on with it… But I liked it. Lots of interesting things happened. It wasn’t the best season for me though and I kind of just wish we could return to season 1 to be honest. I also miss Lotor, and the Garrison outfits are ugly and I spent a lot of season 7 not liking the badly put together aesthetics Earth has to offer if I’m being totally honest.

I’ll have a review to post later on too, so I’ll save the 2000 words I’ll not doubt write and then cut down for then too!

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.10.24 pm.png
Hmm… I could go with something set in a more ‘realistic’ world… But I’ll bite the bullet and do something a bit more out there. I’ll say I’d swap with one of the Shinigami from Death Note! I think it’d suck quite a bit to be a Shinigami, but they just look cool and are pretty cool in general.

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.10.31 pm.png
I don’t have one really… I like a bit of everything! I do have things that I stay away from though, and that’s harem/reverse harem anime, musicals anime and hentai.

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.10.36 pm.png
Slice of life! Yes! Maybe?! Or mystery! One or the other! I love fluffy things, it’s what I thrive off of. I’m like a gremlin that hides away in the corner peering out over the edges of their black hood reading fluff fan fiction and feeding off of the happiness of fictional characters at 1 in the morning.
Mystery is also interesting and keeps me engaged. Or crime. I like crime too. I’d probably go with crime actually – because things like Death Note still fall under that. And maybe I could get an exclusion too to keep watching Law and Order: SVU, Bull, Blue Bloods and Instinct too…

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.10.49 pm.png
W-what?! You want me to choose just one?! There’s too many! I’ll go with my top five currently instead. Yes. A good plan.
Yuuri Katsuki (I’ve been in a real pork cutlet bowl mood recently), Jean Kirschtein, Armin Arlert (I’m always happy for my best boys), Roxas (damn all the KH hype) and the Mad Hatter (I just really love Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland)

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 4.10.43 pm.png
Suuuuuper unoriginally. I made my blog about 2 weeks before Halloween. I like Halloween. I’m always in a spooky mood. I like the darker aesthetic (though like many others too!) so I was happy to fit a colour scheme and avatar around it. And I have red hair. Bam. Done. Originality. I know.

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 5.09.16 pm.png
Hahah great thank-you! Wait… who are you again? It’s so hard to keep track on my fans these days 😂

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 5.09.25 pm.png
The Yuuri On Ice!!! World! It’s a place with no hate, precious characters and wholesome content!

Screen Shot 2018-08-24 at 5.09.32 pm.png
Wow way to expose me here… I like my Angel’s Egg posts and other list stuff along the way… but I’ll say my Angels of Death review just because it was the first sort of ‘legit’ review I did. As for my worse… jeez there’s way too many… so, so, so many…

We also have special shout-outs to the following people!

5 QUESTIONS TO ANSWER FOR THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE WORLD AWARD

Thank-you for Merlin’s Musings for nominating me for this! If you haven’t checked out Merlin’s blog  yet, then you definitely need to! He does some awesome reviews about loads of different topics and also shares some advice too 🙂

The Rules™ for this tag are:
– Thank the Person who nominated you and link back to their blog
– Answer the questions sent to you
– Nominate around 10 bloggers
– Create your own set of questions for your nominees and display the rules

And so here are my answers!

  1. How did you come up with your blogging name?
To be honest I don’t really know how. I started my blog last year in October so I was probably in a Halloween mood (though I’m always in a Halloween mood) and I have red hair so it just sort of happened…
  2. What do you love most about blogging?
I like when I manage to get to talk to other bloggers! Everyone’s always so nice and interesting to talk to 🙂
  3. What do you hate most about blogging?
Hmm I don’t think there’s anything I really hate… But I suppose I feel like I’ve ended up sort of sticking to a ‘branding’ so to say…
But I’ve started to not post daily (because life) and this has actually been good for me because I know that there’s nothing really anything ‘expected’ of me. It’s my choice about what I want to badly write about or scream about incoherently. So if I don’t post, I don’t post. What I want to write about, I can write about (though obviously I wouldn’t post anything disrespectful, but you know what I mean when I say ‘I can write about anything I want!’ There are certain boundaries I’m not willing to cross)
I also have been wanting to start doing some stuff about movies and more TV series that don’t really ‘fit’ with what I post about at the moment so I’ve been a bit scared about adding them in. But as I said, I know that I can choose what I want to post so I need to just start doing it!
  4. Do you have some favourite blogs to recommend?
I have been pretty dodgy lately with keeping up with reading blog posts, and there’s so many bloggers I follow with awesome blogs so this is super hard to answer! So I’m just going to put down some of the blogs I follow that I love to read (that sounds bad, because that doesn’t mean I don’t like reading other people’s blogs… These are just ones that I find I can always engage with or be interested in or I like how they write/review. Wait, does that also sounds kind of bad? I follow over 350 blogs so I don’t get to read everything so it’s just more that I don’t have enough time to read it all so I’m struggling to narrow it down to only a few blogs to put down here since there’s way too many great ones. It does’t mean that not that I don’t love you. I appreciate you and that’s what I’m trying to say! You’re doing great!)

  5. Do you have one or three personal favourite posts you’ve written?
Ooh okay this is hard. I’d have to say that my favourites are…
12 Reasons why Sailor Moon is Amazing: Regarding Sexuality and Gender
Equality’s a really important thing for me. So anything where there’s inclusivity is a big yes from me (so long as it’s not problematic because I’ve seen some… interesting… takes on ‘equality’ before). I also like Sailor Moon and its normalisation of queer couples and characters who aren’t cisgendered. And this is something I really admire about the series 🙂
6 of the Greatest Feminist Studio Ghibli Films
As I said before, equality is something I value quite a lot. And one of my favourite things about Ghibli movies is their realistic portrayal of its females characters. All their female characters are unique, independent and amazing ladies
Angel’s Egg: Thoughts on 4 Key Aspects of this Film
I like this one because it’s actually the first (and only) analysis I’ve done on my blog. I’d like to do more analyses and reviewy things though in the future! So it was a good post for me to write to realise that if I wanted to I could do this and it not be terrible! I’m actually pretty happy with how it turned out 🙂

And here are my nominees (because 5 is pretty close(ish) to 10). I don’t want to spam anyone…):
A Reluctant Hero
Daiyamanga
AnimeQandA
Fueled by Smiling
A Nerdy Perspective

And here are my questions:
1. How did you come up with your blogging name? (Again, stealing the question… It’s a good one!)
2. If you had to change your username and/or blog name, what would you change it to?
3. What is one thing you’d like to post about on your blog that you haven’t yet? (A certain show, type of format etc.)
4. What first got you into blogging?
5. What was the latest blog you’ve followed?

Thanks for reading! Hope you guys are having a good day! ❤

ANSWERING 11 QUESTIONS FOR THE SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD

A big thank-you to Crackdown Review for nominating me for this award! Their blog is so awesome! They write about lots of different things such as anime, movies and more. If you aren’t already following them, then what are you doing?! Go do so now please!

The rules for this award are as follows:
– Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you for the blog post and link back to their blog
– Answer the 11 questions the blogger(s) asked you
– Nominate new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions
– List the rules and display the Sunshine Award Logo in your post

  1. Do you prefer dogs or cats?
Why is this the first question this is so hard! >_< I love both cats and dogs!!!
  2. Who is your favourite artist or idol where you make it as a meaning of life or motivation?
Damn wow okay I need to think about this… I really don’t know… I feel like through reading stuff and discussing things I’ve come to my own conclusions about what I think the meaning of life is so I don’t really look up to anyway to tell me how to live my life? I tend to just admire certain parts of what celebrities do and how they act etc. so I don’t look up to anyone in particular. I admire different things about different people.
  3. Are you doing blogging just because of hobby or is there something else?
I’m doing it as a hobby! 🙂 It’s something that makes me happy, so that’s why I keep doing it!
  4. Are you proud of who you are now?
    No.
  5. What is your dream and what if it isn’t achieved?
Hmm that’s a great question… Okay then, well, I think as far as ‘dreams’ go my big one would would have to be that one day I really just want to live in an apartment with a partner, a cat or dog, and then one day have kids. I’m honestly not too fussed about where I live so I don’t mind if I end up in a house or something else. I understand that not everything ends up having a long-term partner/gets married/something of the like either so I guess I’d just have to live with that. I can definitely get a cat or dog so that’s all good! And as far kids I understand if it doesn’t work out for whatever reason, so again I guess I’d just have to learn to live with it.
  6. What do you think about the nowadays movie with the classic ones?
Hmm… I don’t really mind. I tend to decide if I like a movie based upon the acting, characters, plot, style etc. rather than when it was made
  7. Is there any something that you can’t express it? I mean, are you having a hard time or things like that?
I get really anxious when it comes to communicating with people regarding what I want and when something another person says/does makes me feel uncomfortable. So, um… there’s quite a lot of things…
  8. Do you love rock or metal?
Not really… I don’t have a favourite genre or hate any genres. I just prefer individual songs.
  9. Who is your favourite movie director and why?
Please don’t hate me for saying this but I actually really like Tim Burton as a director. I love the style and story worlds of his films, and I like the themes explored in them too
  10. Maybe this is a bit rude, do you feel your existence is more useful in this life or vice versa? I’m sorry
I’m a bit confused by what this question is asking? If it’s asking if I think my life is useful, I’d say to a certain degree that yes, it is
  11. Do you feel like you were better than you are now or vice versa? It’s like, childhood is better than being an adult or whatever?
I think that it’s different for different people. Personally I don’t think that my childhood or early teenage years were ‘better’ then my current teenage years – just different

Here’s my nominees (as always, there’s no pressure to participate if you don’t want to!):
– rossiroad
– Lina
– _LIFEisAniMovie_

And my questions are:
1. Do you have any comfort foods?
2. Fish or hamsters?
3. What’s a sure-fire way to cheer you up?
4. What’s your proudest achievement?
5. Do you have any obsessions?
6. If you could only pick between eating chocolate or ice-cream for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
7. Do you have any strange fears?
8. What’s your dressing style? (e.g. preppy, grunge, casual)
9. What’s your favourite type of monster?
10. How long have you been blogging for?
11. Any secret talents that we should know about?

Thanks for reading everyone! Hope you’re having a good day 🙂

BLOGGER APPRECIATION AWARD: SAYING 1 POSITIVE THING ABOUT MYSELF

Thank-you to Matt-in-the-Hat for nominating for for this award! He nominated me about a month ago and I finally have now produced something! (*slow claps*) Matt is great, he writes so many awesome posts about video games, anime and much more! He also does a series of posts called TGIF: Friday Funny and they are always so much fun to go through!

Here are the rules:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, link back to their site
  2. Write a paragraph of something positive about yourself
  3. Nominate and notify as many bloggers as you wish
  4. Use the award image (this is the actual image below but I’m a terrible sport and can’t have something with the green underline as a feature photo because I’ve decided to be friends with people who are part of the grammar police and they’ve started to infect me on an aesthetic level and this is terrible. I’m terrible and I just can’t do it I’m so sorry I tried but I had to replace it I’m so sorry. It’s such a cute image though… It’s so sweet…)

Anyway here’s my positive thing about myself (which clearly isn’t following directions and not being trivial)!
I’m curious. I like to learn about things. I get easily interested and intrigued by things. I like listening to long rambles from people about stuff that they love, especially if I have no clue about (unless you start using smart-people language and then I get lost and have to ask you to explain what everything means so that I can kind of understand what you’re saying) because I get to see people so excited about something they love and also learn stuff. I like to learn stuff about the people around me, about the world I live in and I enjoy researching stuff. Obviously I don’t get excited about everything and if I’m not interested in it, I’ll leave it alone – but more often than not I have questions to ask about things even if it’s just purely so I can understand what’s going on. I like trivia facts and learning about really obscure things is also exciting to me. And since I pretty much always have access to a phone or laptop on demand I like to look things up straight away, and if not I file a mental note to do so later 🙂

And for the nominees today we have:
1. Smash Cut
2. Aldael’s Attic
3. Crimson

Hope you’re all having a good day! 🙂

DAY 3: THREE DAYS, THREE QUOTES

A final thank-you to Matt Doyle Media and A Nerdy Perspective for tagging me in this!

It’s the last day of this tag for me! And like I’ve been doing for the last two days, I’m sticking with my sort-of-a-theme of ‘acceptance’ 🙂

So without further ado, here’s today’s quote:

I’m not crazy. My reality is just different than yours – Cheshire Cat, Alice in Wonderland

We all know that I love the Cheshire Cat (how could you not?). He speaks in riddles a lot of the time and he says many insightful things. I love this quote particularly because the whole of Alice in Wonderland can be interpreted in so many different ways! So it’s really fitting that the Cheshire Cat says this, as it’s also very applicable out in the ‘real world’ as well as in Wonderland. People have different opinions and it doesn’t make them ‘crazy’ for doing things or thinking things that are different to the majority. They just have a different perspective.

Well, bye for now! Hope you have a good day 🙂
